Review: Stila Convertible Color

Yeah, that’s how dark it is in the container. But it’s not as crazy when you put it on.

PROS:

-very pigmented (as a blush and as a lip cream)

-compact and has a mirror

-looks really dark, but when you put it on as a blush it looks quite natural

-dries sort of powder-y when used as a blush

-no smell

-a really subtle way of wearing lip color

CONS:

-If you’re germ-phobic or think it’s gross to put your fingers on the product everytime you want to use it (like me), then you might have a slight problem. What I do when I want to use it as a lip cream is I “kiss” it so it goes on my lips without me touching it with my fingers. It’s weird, I know.

-Makes lips dry (put lip balm after putting it on, not before or the product won’t stick to your lips as much)

-tastes like makeup…if you don’t like the taste of makeup, you can still survive but if you can’t stand it, put a flavored lip balm over it. The taste isn’t too bad, it just doesn’t taste as good as Benetint or Mac lipsticks.

-since it’s Stila (a high-end brand), it’s quite expensive, but I think it’s worth-it because it’s a multi-use product (I’ve heard that you can use the lightest nude-ish color as an eyeshadow base)

*Ho ho ho under the mistletoe…if you can’t seem to figure out what to get your makeup-loving best friend for Christmas or something, go to Rustan’s. They sell this there (and they have a huge color selection)
