Lin-Manuel Miranda
03162012 In the Heights rerun, RCBC Plaza
I couldn’t think of anything witty to put as the title, but then again, there’s nothing more special than making it Lin-Manuel Miranda. I mean come on, he’s a god.
It was one thing to have LMM and Bobbi Garcia sit two rows behind you but it’s another thing to see LMM actually go onstage and talk about how “kilig” he was with the whole production and the warm reception of the audience and how he started writing In the Heights.

Portrait of a Girl
03092012 Bare: A Pop Opera, Teatrino, Greenhills
Bare: A Pop Opera in a few words is a musical about two gay boys who are in love and their classmates who are always high. It’s a lot to take in, actually, if you’ve never heard of it aka you’re a Baregin (get it? haha, hello Barrio). But it doesn’t really end just there. The plot has so many twists and a very shocking ending because if it didn’t, then I don’t think it would’ve lasted more than two hours.

It’s March 1st
and it’s cheese.

SMASH

Smash is a brand-new NBC tv series that revolves around a Broadway musical about the life of Marilyn Monroe. It premiered just yesterday, Feb 6, and my friend gave me a copy of the pilot episode.
Basically, the show is going to be about the battle of two girls who want to play the role of Marilyn Monroe in the upcoming Broadway musical and the ups and downs of writing, producing and directing it. These two girls are Karen (Katherine McPhee) and Ivy (Megan Hitly). The first episode showcased Julia (Debra Messing) and Tom (Christian Borle) writing songs for the musical and the auditions of Karen and Ivy for the role of Marilyn.

Today, in music class, Noelle and I decided to verify with our teacher something we learned from Next to Normal about Mozart. So I raise my hand and ask “is it true that Mozart was crazy?” Then Noelle says “yeah, did he have a mental illness or something?”
Now thanks to Natalie and Next to Normal, my music teacher thinks we’re very interested in Mozart. Butkissers.
These are a few of my favorite things!
